Rwanda Peaberry Lake Kivu Muhari Washing Station (NEW)
An all NEW Peaberry coffee is in town
Grown in Rwanda’s Western Province along the shores of Lake Kivu, this coffee comes from the Muhari Coffee Washing Station, where coffee is produced at elevations ranging from 1,800 to 2,200 meters above sea level. The station covers roughly 10 hectares and provides employment for around 200 workers during the harvest season. Over the past six years, the owner has focused heavily on quality, starting each crop with carefully managed coffee seedlings raised in greenhouses before being transplanted into the field. Day-to-day operations are overseen by station manager Twayigize, who coordinates production, quality control, and processing to ensure every lot meets the highest standards before export.
As a roaster, what stands out most about this coffee is its balance and clarity. In the cup, you'll find bright notes of lemon up front, followed by the smooth, refined character of black tea. A lingering brown sugar sweetness rounds everything out, creating a clean and approachable profile that highlights the elegance and complexity Rwanda is known for. This is a coffee that shines as a medium roast, delivering a crisp, vibrant cup with a sweet finish.
